Blogging Tip for the Blog Addicted

LeisaWatkins.comMy sister Natasha posted a great article titled “Blogging Tips for the Book Blogger.” If you don’t have a book blog don’t let the title scare you away from visiting. It’s full of blogging tips that any blogger can use. You may want to check out.

Natasha was my blogging apprentice and I’m quite proud of the blogger she has turned in to. She now runs a very popular book blog.

Her blog inspired me to write a couple of “quick tips” of my own…

  1. Don’t let your blog go as long as this one has without updating it. I’m sorry readers for the long delay in answering your comments, and my lack of posts. This blog, and my others, hasn’t been abandoned. I’ve just been even busier than usual with some design projects and business things that have needed my undivided attention.

  2. My other tip is for those of you who may run more than one blog. Assuming you have a few people that would like to keep up-to-date with what’s happening in your life an easy way to do that is through blogging. Those people could subscribe to your each of your feeds, or they could visit one central site that contains the last post from each of your blogs.

You can see the one I created here: http://www.leisawatkins.com.

Here I’ve taken my websites and broken them into different themes.

BookWise - This contains links to my book blog, my business, features books from my library, and shows my latest reads.

Dream - This section links to this particular blog and will link to several other projects eventually.

Create - This section links to my Create with Leisa blog and will eventually link to my art gallery and publications.

Learn - This section features our educational sites. (All in serious need of a new post at this time.) My favorite is the art blog.

Live - Features things related to my life in general. For example, it features my recipe blog. It will contain links to my gratitude blog, and one where I celebrate life in general. I’ll also link to my online photo gallery here, once it is set-up.

Creating it was simple enough. I just created a feed for each of my blogs and had it fed to the new site. Now my family can keep up with their daughter who has become addicted to blogging.

EntreGame Clue

We also have a winner in the Who Am I? EntreGame for round 7. MaryLou of MaryLou’s Art Adventure correctly identified The Saving Bug as the mystery blog. Congratulations Mary Lou. You have won 250 Entrecredits compliments of Green Colibri.

I’d like to do a write-up on the blogs, but I’ll have to do that later. I’m off to a evening of dining on rich desserts and mentoring.

Back Online At Last

We’ll I’m back online at last. The computer problems were due to a bad fan and bad power supply. We repaired it early this morning. At the same time our internet access problems for our other computer haven’t resurfaced either. So everything looks great.

I had so many emails that it took me an hour and a half to go through them all. And I haven’t even checked all of my accounts yet. So please be patient with me for just another day. I’m still getting caught up and will update the image clue in the Who Am I? Mystery Blogger EntreGame tomorrow.

In the mean time here is a clue directly from the author of the blog:

“I started the blog because I felt it was time I had to start focusing on my own life, rather than always being there for others and forgetting about myself, hence the title of the blog.”

Experiencing Technical Difficulties

Sorry that I haven’t updated you with a new clue and image. We are experiencing some technical difficulties. Our computer crashed. I’ve lost my image editor for at least a day or two. Hopefully it’s just a minor issue like a new power supply unit and not a hard drive issue.

It has also affected my ability to drop Entrecards at the rate I usually do as I’ve had limited access to a computer. So sorry if I haven’t been able to reciprocate a drop. I’ve tried to get to everyone, but just haven’t enough computertime.

Anyway, please look for updated clues either Monday or Tuesday.

Tick Tock The Clock Ticks On

EntreGame ClueThe clock is ticking on and I still don’t have my next blog article done. The day was full of interruptions. One of those interruptions may prove to be a broken bone in in my daughters hand as a result of a skateboarding accident. We’ll know tomorrow.

My articles not done, but I promised you, my readers, a clue today in the latest EntreGame so here it is…

Tick, Tock?

And the new image is:

Tick Tock Clue #1

Leisa Watkins

Who is going to bed with a useless phrase running through her head: Tick tock the clock ticks on … and wondering why that reminds me from the Wizard of Oz song: Ding dong the witch is dead. Which old witch? The wicked witch.

Liza has put together a fun blog. I love the colors and the scrapped look. That look is perfect for her blog because it’s her online scrapbook about blog her daily life and anything else she wants to talk about.

Liza is a full blooded Filipina, born and raised in the small town of Iloilo. She now lives in Dallas, TX. Liza was born under the sign of Virgo (so was I). Something else we have in common and that I wouldn’t have discovered if it weren’t for Entrecard and this game.

Liza is a full time mother two boys Andrew “3″ and Adam”2″ and happily married to husband Kip for 4 years.

Liza is a scrapholic and photographer wanna be. So am I so I’ve met yet another blogging kindred spirit.

Contest SponsorGreen Colibri

Green Colibri
Entrecard Category: Environment

The Green Colibri website is run by a guy from Bergen, Norway.

Every time I visited the site I wondered what Green Colibri meant. Then I noticed the tab that said “Green Colibri” I clicked on it and read: “The green (violet-ear) colibri or Colibri thalassinus as many calls it is my favourite bird. Unfortunately its not likely to see it here in Norway, its more likely to be seen in Mexico, Canada, Panama, Peru, Columbia etc.

Its 10cm long and weighs 5-6g. Its mostly bright green but it glitters beautifully on its breast and throat. It has a violet patch running down from its eye.”

The Green Colibri blog focuses on the environment and green living.

Contest WinnerSharp Words

Sharp Words
Entrecard Category: Writing and Literature

Catherine’s runs a very interesting and wonderful blog about words. Bet you couldn’t guess that, could you? Her tag line describes it perfectly: words to read, words to write, words to admire, words to despair over…

Here’s how she describes her blog:

“Sharp Words is my place for rambling about all things word-related:

  • book reviews
  • what I’ve been reading
  • my own attempts at creative writing, including NaNoWriMo
  • original poems by me
  • discussions of technical writing
  • words and phrases that interest and amuse me - misspellings, misheard lyrics and so on
  • famous quotations that apply to writing or reading
  • anything else that comes into my head that seems relevant!”

Catherine is from Ireland.

Oh, and Catherine don’t be to hard on me and my misspellings, and frequent grammar mistakes.

New contest starts Monday.
