How Bad Do You Want Success?

We’ve all experienced times in our life where we felt that we really wanted something. Perhaps it was a job promotion, or a new house. Maybe it was something that would contribute to our enjoyment in life. Something like learning to paint or playing the guitar.

The question is…

How bad do you want to succeed?

What are you willing to do yourself to make your dreams a reality?

Are you willing to get rid of your excuses?

My mentor, Robert G. Allen said, “When you really want something you’ll find a way. When you really don’t you’ll find an excuse.”

There are all sorts of excuses:

  • I don’t have enough time.
  • I don’t have enough money. (One I used to use a lot, and one I still fine myself thinking far to often.)
  • I just don’t have the right personality to… speak in front of people, to lead people, to sale products, to do that kind of work…etc… you fill in the blank.
  • My health isn’t good enough.
  • I don’t know enough about this…or that…
  • I don’t know how to set-up a website.
  • I’m just to tired after working a full day to do much else.

What’s the excuse you typically use?

What is the typical response that you tend to fall-back to time and time again?

Take a hard look at yourself. The decide how you can remedy that problem.

  • I don’t have enough money. How could you get the money? Could you partner with someone else? Could you joint venture with someone else? Could you start out smaller, and with less money, that you originally thought? Could you do much of the work yourself and save money?
  • I just don’t have the right personality to… speak in front of people, to lead people, to sale products, to do that kind of work…etc… you fill in the blank. Your personality is simply your point of view. Decide to change your view of yourself. Act like you already have the trait that you want and it will come. Get training if you need it.
  • My health isn’t good enough. I basically have one thing to say to this. People can accomplish a lot more than they think they can. I’ve had plenty of health problems and still accomplished a lot in the same amount of time, than the average healthy person does. I’ve seen people accomplish more in the last three months of their life than the entire ten year before, all because they were dying and they had a definite deadline.
  • I don’t know enough about this…or that… So learn. It really is that simple. Read a book, get a mentor. Attend a class. Become self-taught.
  • I don’t know how to set-up a website. Again, learn. It’s a learning curve, but certainly an easy task.
  • I’m just to tired after working a full day to do much else. I’m just going to unwind in front of the TV. This is simply a cop-out. Fill your day with meaningful and life changing activities. Sure you can have some days to simply relax, but don’t let this excuse rule your life.

My mentor, Robert G. Allen told us that he wanted to propose co-authoring a book with Mark Victor Hansen. Mark had been traveling a lot. So was Robert. They are both extremely busy men.

Robert was having a difficult time arranging an appointment to go over his book idea. Now you have to understand that Robert G. Allen is the type of person that doesn’t let circumstances stop him from accomplishing his goals. So this is what he did…

Robert called Mark’s administrative assistant and found out his travel schedule. Mark was booked for a trip to Canada. So Robert proceeded to find out Mark’s flight number and the seat he would be sitting in. Then he called and made reservations for the same flight and arranged for a seat next to Mark.

He boarded the plane and was able to pitch his book idea to Mark Victor Hansen on their flight to Canada. He then turned around and flew back home.

They wrote the book by the way.

Now that is doing what it takes to make things happen.

So again I ask you:

  • How willing are you to make your dreams a reality?
  • How bad do you want success?
  • Are you going to make your dreams a reality?

Mentoring By Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen

I just have to share with you an incredible opportunity…

The One Minute MillionaireYou know the saying, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” I’ve told you about two of my mentors before, Richard Paul Evans and Robert G. Allen. What I haven’t told you yet is is just how ready I was for them to enter my life. You’d really understand if I had gotten around to telling you the rest of my story.

I’m bursting at the seams with excitement as my life has been forever changed because of the relationship I have developed with these two. The life-changing things I have learned since coming in contact with them could fill book after book.

Robert Allen has earned at least a million dollars from multiple sources, including through the internet, seminars, real-estate, investments, and many more. The information that is in this man’s head has changed thousands of lives for the better. Robert and Mark Victor Hansen are on a quest to help 1 million people become  “enlightened” millionaires through mentoring programs.

To help facilitate that…

Next Thursday night Robert G. Allen is starting to teach a series of four 1- hour weekly group mentoring sessions on the topic of The One Minute Millionaire.

It could be life-changing, but only if you take advantage of the opportunity.

By the way, Mark Victor Hansen, author of the Chicken Soup series of books, will be on the line as well on the 15th of next month. Mark Victor Hansen has sold more non-fiction books than any other author (except the religious books, such as the Bible).

Make Your Dreams a Reality - Get a Mentor

Richard Paul Evans and Robert G Allen with Leisa WatkinsI recently spent the most wonderful life-changing weekend with my mentors Richard Paul Evans and Robert G. Allen. I walked away with pages of notes and life-changing ideas that I can implement right now. But that’s not usual whenever I learn from these two.

For those of you who many not be sure who they are here is a little background info:

Richard Paul Evan is a highly successful New York Times best-selling author and a very successful business man. He has a string of eleven New York Times bestsellers. His books have sold millions world-wide and have been published in many different languages. He has coached many to success. He specializes in life changing ideas, coaching writers and in financial coaching.

Robert G. Allen is one of the world’s top financial advisers. He has 13 mega best-seller books on money and has made over a million dollars in various marketing arenas including the stock market, real estate, the internet, direct mail, seminars, and many more. He had dedicated his life to helping people become enlightened millionaires by teaching them not only how to earn money, but to do it in an enlightened way in both receiving and giving back. He went from riches to bankrupt. He learned from his mistakes and went on to make millions again. He wants to help others avoid the same pitfalls he did. I’m going to learn all I can from both him and Richard.

The first day I got the chance to learn from not only Richard and Robert but also Dan McCormick, author of Lessons From Great Lives. Dan taught us methods we can use to learn from the great lives of those before us.

I’ll be sharing much of what I learned from them with you throughout the coming weeks.

I learned ideas that will not only make me a lot of money, but ideas that will transform my life forever, and the lives of those around me. Ideas that have made me a better person. Ideas that have changed the way I think. Ideas that are catalysts for change.

What’s incredible amazing is that I didn’t have to pay thousands for the opportunity (and it is truly worth thousands) because it was all part of my BookWise experience.

If you’d like to be mentored by these two men I highly recommend you take a look at BookWise. Get mentored by millionaires. If you have ever thought about starting a home-based business you’ve simply got to check it out! It is a life-changing, life-transforming business.

Dream your dreams, act on them, plan your future, and believe in yourself. You’ll never regret going for your dreams! You’ll never regret making them a reality. Find a mentor and work with someone who can help make your dreams come true.

Does the newborn baby regret growing?

Baby in Arms

If you have followed this blog since it’s beginning you’ve learned that I had been in survival mode for a couple of years. I was living my life fifteen minutes at a time. I was simply “in a state of being” a I tried to regroup after trauma and recover from depression.

It was a very strange place to be because I have always been one to have big plans, big goals, big dreams. I’ve always been the “type A” personality that is driven to succeed. And suddenly I found myself without any plans. I couldn’t see myself in the future because the future seemed to painful. It was a very scary place to be and one that can be dangerous for some people. I had lost hope. I survived because I’m not a quitter.

This morning I was looking back at the “lost years” with regret. I regretted the wasted time. I regretted the “quality time” I missed with my children. My years were wasted. Or so I thought.

Coping With Trauma: How Would You Cope?

The Brave OneMy husband and I just watched the Jodie Foster movie, The Brave One. (Warning: This post may contain spoilers.) In the movie Jodie Foster’s character, Erica Bain, is traumatized when she is brutally beaten and her finance is murdered in a vicious attack. The movie was a little too depressing to watch more than once. But it originally caught my eye as it chronicled the life of a woman after trauma and told the story of how she strives to cope with the fears that arose. Her response to the trauma surprises herself. This is evidenced in the quote:

“I always believed that fear belonged to other people. Weaker people. It never touched me. And then it did. And when it touches you, you know… that it’s been there all along. Waiting beneath the surfaces of everything you loved. “

You can speculate and guess how you would cope with traumatic events. But I don’t believe that you can truly know how you would cope in any experience unless you are in it. Sure you can look at your character traits, you can look at your past experiences, you can speculate, but you can’t truly know.

In a million years I would have never thought that I would react to a series of events in my life the way I have(more…)

How to Speed Up the Healing Process

Pink RoseYesterday I talked about how I’ve recently been hit with what I termed a healing crisis. I’ve found that there are certain things that I can do that get me through the healing crisis faster and put me back into the sunlight. These are things I refer to as symbolic healing. The activity is symbolic of the healing that needs to be done.

So if you are feeling down, if you are a little on the sad side, or if you are coping with things like post traumatic stress disorder, like I am, then perhaps one of the following will be of help:

  • Sleep - Good old fashioned sleep often helps. An hour long nap can do wonders and jump start the healing process. Taking a nap usually isn’t possible though. Especially with kids in the house and deadlines looming.
  • Reading a book - it allows me time to put my mind elsewhere for a brief time while my soul repairs itself. A good uplifting book is the key, a depressing book simply wouldn’t work. I’ve found that I should stay away from books that have to do with hobbies and things I want to do because at times like this they just seem unrealistic. It makes me feel even more overwhelmed.
  • Cleaning the house - cleaning the house can be very symbolic. I use healing words when I am cleaning. For example, as I’m washing the floor I’ll say to myself over and over again I’ll say, “I’m wiping away the footprints of those that walked all over me.” When I’m cleaning up the cob-webs I’ll say, “I’m wiping away the webs of deception that clouded my judgment.” As I’m taking things I no longer need to the thrift store I’ll tell myself, “I’m making room for the new.” (This method actually seems to be one of the most effective and quickest methods. )
  • Writing it down - I’ve found now that simply the act of describing what is going on, and writing about solutions help ease me through the crisis. And the act of writing it on a blog seems to be more effective for me than writing about it in a journal. That’s because there is a part of me that simply can’t write about a problem without offering my readers a solution.
  • Create Art - Creating art is symbolic. It says, “I’m creating my future.”
  • Take a bath - washing away the pain of the past.
  • Food - this isn’t the same for me as it would be for some people. Some people eat to deaden the pain. That’s not me. At times like this I don’t eat. I can go a couple of days without eating and so for me simply that act of eating a good meal will tell me soul that I believe my life is worthy of being nourished and fed.
  • Prayer - turning to a higher power always helps.
  • Gardening - planting seeds for the future.

What things help you feel better when you are feeling down?

Staying Alive

Why do I find it so hard to take care of myself? I must think I am super women.

I do get a lot done, I’m very successful in many many ways, but I won’t be able to keep up at this pace. Things have got to change.

You see, I’ve been known to not eat all day, get four hours of sleep a day(consistently), and run myself ragged. It’s a terrible habit I’ve gotten myself into. I believe it stemmed from a silent death wish, a wish to check out of this world, and stop the pain. That, and the fact that I get hyper-focusing and forget about anything else.

Even at the worse times there was a big part of me that wanted to live, and really live passionately. Thankfully that, and my love for my family, kept me alive.

I mentioned before that I began the road to recovery when I began creating. While the creating was artistic, I am sure it was to my soul symbolic of “creating a future.” I believe the physical act of creating something was important. It said to the world, “I’m here for the long haul. I am creating my future.”

But now staying alive isn’t enough. I’m out of that survival mode, and into the living mode. But I don’t want to just live, I want to thrive. And to thrive I’ve got to definitely take better care of myself. I’ve got to stop putting my health and well being last.

So here it is, my first two commitments on the Staying Alive plan. I plan to live a long healthy life. And to prove that I will now:

  1. Start by day off right by eating breakfast. I will begin eating breakfast each morning so I have the energy to “really live.”
  2. Drink More Life Giving Water - I’ll start off by drinking three large glasses of water before reaching for another beverage.

What are you doing to sabotage your future?
What are you doing to create your future?
What can you do to increase your odds of staying alive and enjoying life?
Want to join me on my quest to live with passion and vitality?
