I’ve learned a little bit more about some proposed United States legislation by having this blog. Because of the title of my blog (Dream, Act, Plan, Believe) I’ve been getting a lot of traffic from people looking for information on The DREAM Act, or the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act.
The DREAM Act Summary
The federal DREAM act is a proposed legislation would provide high achieving high school students, who arrived in the US as minors. They are undocumented immigrants and have lived in the United States for a long term legal status, if they serve in the armed forces or attend college for two years.
History of the DREAM Act
The DREAM Act 2006, and the DREAM Act 2007 were both defeated, but because all three candidates for president supported the bill there is a push to reintroduce the DREAM act. So we may be looking at a future DREAM Act 2009.
