These Things Enrich My Soul And Delight My Heart - Part II

After the last three posts I figured this blog needed a little more positive energy. So now is the perfect time for part 2 of the things that enrich my soul and delight by heart.

Tulip

  1. The cry of a newborn baby.
  2. The smell of fresh-baked bread.
  3. The sound of jingle bells.
  4. The sound of the ocean, which I’ve only heard a couple of times in my life.
  5. A thick vanilla milk shake. Yep, plain old vanilla.
  6. Hearing my kids voices on the other end of the phone when I’m traveling.
  7. Hearing, “Mommy, I love you.”
  8. Tulips - particularly red tulips.
  9. Gazing up at millions of stars when out camping.
  10. Breakfast in the mountains. It never tasted so good.
  11. Hugs from my kids.
  12. Hot tubs.
  13. The color red.
  14. The color purple.
  15. Color, color, color.
  16. Creating works of art.
  17. A sleeping child.
  18. Colored easter eggs.
  19. The crunch sound of foot-steps in the snow.
  20. The sound of large bells.
  21. German chocolate pie.
  22. The sound of song birds.
  23. Quaking aspens.
  24. Peeling bark on trees.
  25. The smell of chocolate chip cookies.
  26. Rainbows.
  27. Simply silence.
  28. Fine art.
  29. Watching a child sleep.
  30. Good energy.
  31. Positive thinkers.
  32. Video stores.
  33. Fresh green salad with everything.
  34. Home-grown tomatoes.
  35. A warm blanket.
  36. Roasted marshmallows - crispy brown, not black.

Look for those moments in daily life for which you can be grateful.
Pause and be thankful!

I love the tulip picture.
I am warmed inside by anything green and growing. Spring is on the way and the thought of that delights my soul.
I also agree that the sound of the ocean is very calming. I grew up in FLA and now live in Chicago and miss the ocean very much. That salt air is very calming also, as long as you’re not near the docks (where they clean the fish)! LOL

Al,

Thanks. I love tulips. I wish their growing season was longer. I never seem to get enough of them in the spring.

I would miss the ocean as well. I miss the ocean and I haven’t lived near one.

I’m glad it helped. Some of the best therapy when one is feeling down is to create your own list of little things that uplift and inspire you. How about creating a list? Next time you’re feeling down simply reading it will help.
